Exodus 33:13–16
Devotional Thoughts
Finding grace in His sight What is life without it?
Blindness, darkness, and misery.
But seeking out His grace is to find direction in the midst of a lost world.
And the point–
To know Him.
Find grace.
Belong to Him.
What’s the result? His presence and rest.
Because His presence is peace and healing.
It’s also a witness to those who don’t know Him.
Reminds me of an incident my husband and I had several years ago. We knew we had to be in Albuquerque for my nephew’s wedding, which had been moved up suddenly from their original date. We rearranged our schedule and started driving down there, intending to be early so we could change into our formal clothes.
Then in the Santa Fe mountains, our Chevy Tahoe started to lose RPMs. We had this happen to us the previous week driving from Canon City to home but it went away. It came back with a vengeance on that day October 8 as we drove to Albuquerque.
So my husband, Travis, pulled to the side of the road and we prayed. I asked friends on Facebook to pray for us. I called family in the midst of wedding preparations to pray. It didn’t look like to anyone that we would even make it to the wedding, let alone start the car.
Then 15 minutes later, Travis cranked the ignition. It worked! We made sure going down a hill we went fast enough to get back up the next hill. It was like we were being pushed by angels. So we were not only on time, but early as originally planned.
When we walked into the Albuquerque Country Club where the wedding was being held, my mom and sister couldn’t believe it. I told them what happened. Then I went to the powder room where my new niece-to-be was getting ready.
At first, she looked at me as if nothing unusual was happening. Then after a few seconds, it dawned on her! Aunt Dana had made it against all odds! Deeply touched, she started crying and we hugged each other tightly.
It meant the world to her and my nephew that we had made it.
As it turned out, it was a very expensive wedding trip for us as the fuel pump had gone out. An $800 bill! But God provided and this investment in them is paying off as now my nephew and his wife live less than a mile from us and they are an integral part of our AngelArts team. I could not do this without them!
And I know that that miracle had a profound effect on other family members which in turn produced more miracles.
So here’s the bottom line–without Christ’s presence, life, business, family, or whatever endeavor you are pursuing is not worth it. But His grace and presence makes all the difference in the world!
Application
Give your struggles and endeavors and challenges to God today and everyday.
Prayer
We pray that we will have favor in His sight so that we may know His ways. We pray that God will go before us. Amen.
Call to Action
One of the reasons I’m starting this devotional is to ask for others to intentionally pray for our business, AngelArts.
Please pray for my nephew Nate and his wife Jaden as they partner with me in our endeavors. We especially want God’s presence in the work we are doing–our Live Action Role Playing club and the curriculum we are writing and publishing. We will be an exhibitor at the Teach Them Diligently Conference in Denver over Memorial weekend and I will be a speaker. Pray that we will be diligent to get our work done so that we can reach many families during the conference.
Dear Lord, be with Nate, Jaden, and Dana as they prepare for the conference in May. Amen.
