More than likely, your 2020 goal planning didn’t pan out. The year was bad in so many ways.
And if statistics hold true, you have probably not done goal planning for 2021 yet.
Now, I’m not saying that to make you feel guilty. It’s just that, “according to the best research, less than three percent of Americans have written goals.” So says Brain Tracy, a highly popular coach and speaker and recognized as the top personal success authority in the world.
But why do goal planning anyway? Isn’t that just a waste of time? Especially since 2020 was such a disaster?
I will address that question in a second, but first let me tell you that goal planning for 2021 is not too late!
I also want to assure you that if you have made New Year’s resolutions and not kept them, it’s okay. You’re not alone.
What you need to do is change your MINDSET about writing goals. Ditch the New Year’s resolutions and create life-giving, purposeful, missional, vision-inspired goals instead! Or what’s called goal-based planning. Use goal planning to revolutionize your business!
How? Well, I will share with you a little later on a very handy, convenient offer that will help you just do that!
So, why should you make goals? Well, according to Brian Tracy:
- Single most important skill you can learn and perfect.
- Helps you get the things you want in life.
- Must do it in order to fulfill your potential.
- Empowers you to do work you want to do.
- Helps you become the person you want to be.
- No limit to financial rewards.
- Achieve the kind of life you want to live.
So doesn’t that all sound like good reasons to write down your goals for 2021?
But perhaps you feel like you’re too busy to take the time to do goal planning. Our lives are hectic enough, right? And everything right now is so hard. How can you stop and take a breather to work on this?
Well, I will tell you why this is very important in just a moment. But first let me suggest that it doesn’t have to take that long. Of course, you get out of it what you put into it, but even if you just take a half hour to plan out your 2021 with mission and vision centered goals will rock your year.
AND let me tell you another secret of successful goal planning–invite the Lord into it. Use it as a time of prayer and study in the Word. Let Him speak to you about what HE wants for your year!
But back to why goal planning is so important: because if you don’t plan and set goals, you will always be living in the tyranny of the urgent. This means you will always be doing what seems urgent at the time but what’s important will fall by the wayside.
That means you will go nowhere. Make no improvements. In other words, mediocrity.
And if human beings aren’t growing, they are DYING!
So are you committed now to do goal planning?
But maybe at the beginning of this year you are burnt out from all the drama of 2020. I totally get that. It was in many ways a disaster for my family, too.
But in the midst of all this mess, I dug into Scripture and the Holy Spirit in a Bible study I created centered on Business Revival. Because I wanted to revolutionize my life and business.
What was I looking for when seeking a BUSINESS REVIVAL? I was looking for transformation of our businesses. More clients. More customers. That financial freedom that always seemed out of our grasp. To be able to use our talents, callings, and experience in God’s Kingdom to the maximum. To stop living paycheck to paycheck. To experience some rest and joy rather than the constant mayhem of disappointments we have experienced. For the Mighty Spirit of God to create a harvest for us, that would bring HIM glory. Not for us, but so we can BRAG on HIM!
Did that happen for my family and I? I can unequivocally say yes, it has started to start. Many miracles amidst overwhelming struggles happened for us. Are we where we want to be yet? No, but we have started our journey. We are confident that revival can happen for us in 2021 and I am confident that I can help you begin your journey in my 2021 Business Revival Challenge!
But before you go, leave a comment below. Let me know what YOUR vision for 2021 is! And if you do tell me your goals, I will pray for you!
