Here is your Bible Devotional! Welcome to Day Forty-Two!
A little Bible Devotional tip–Sometimes you need a break from your regular plan! I love the method of flipping to a random page in your Bible and letting the Holy Spirit speak to you! Try it, you’ll like it!
Day Forty-Two
2 Kings 18:5-7
Bible Devotional Thoughts
Sometimes overwhelm hits like a flood and we don’t see our way out. To be hit with so many obstacles at once!
For me, that can be chronic illness to the hard side of Autism rearing its ugly head to dryers breaking down to bills needing to be paid to marketing campaigns that needed to be done a month ago! Then there are friends who have betrayed us and having to put our dog down in December. So many crushing defeats, so many “monsters” to fight.
We feel sometimes we hang like a thread, then a new trouble blindsides us. Our most recent “plot twist” was our dryer going out. A little thing, seemingly, but essential to the household running smoothly.
Recently I experienced two miracles, though–God taking care of us when we were pushed to the edge. Then this last week I am in dire need again.
Hezekiah’s example in the face of overwhelming challenges is an encouragement.
Hezekiah trusted the Lord God of Israel so much so that he stood out from most other kings before and after him. He held fast to the Lord, he didn’t quit following Him and he kept God’s commandments from Moses.
He brought his concern and fear before the Lord and asked for help.
Our lives, too, can be overrun by challenges and our survival hangs in the balance.
But bring these challenges before God with an attitude of repentance. Trust in Him. Depend on Him. Don’t quit following Him. Obey His commandments. Hold fast to Him. Bring your concerns to Him. Ask Him for help.
He will be there. He will help. Maybe not the way you would expect but you can always count on Him.
Application of Bible Devotional
Bring your troubles to Him like Hezekiah brought his troubles to the Lord.
Prayer
Dear Lord, help us to trust in you. We cling to you and will not depart from following you. You will be with us and wherever we go we will not bow down to the gods of this age. Amen.
Call to Action
One of the reasons I’m starting this Bible Devotional is to ask for others to intentionally pray for our business, AngelArts.
Pray for us in this stressful time when deadlines loom, dryers break, and bills need to be paid!
Would you like prayer? Please respond with a prayer request and our team will pray for you in our next staff meeting! We did this last night and it was such a blessing to us! And join the group so we can be reminded to pray for you on a regular basis!
And new! If you join the Prayer Team, we have created a private Discord channel where we can pray together! Discord is a great tool for connecting and much more secure than FB Messenger.
