1 Samuel 1:10
Bible Devotional Thoughts
One of my all-time favorite chapters in the Bible. Because I relate so much to Hannah! I wanted and waited for a child for 11 years until he was born. That is why I named him Samuel.
Rereading this, i am struck that in my life currently I am working on birthing another child of sorts. Our Business as Mission, AngelArts, and eventually our Blooming Originals Inspirational Healing & Arts Center.
Often times, I feel ignored and invisible. To the world, who am I? I have often struggled with thoughts like, “I’m just a fat housewife. Who cares what I have to say?”
But God looks on the heart. He looked on the heart of Hannah that day so long ago and granted her heart’s desire.
I have to trust He will grant mine. Hope deferred makes the heart sick. God gave me these dreams and now my dream is shared by others, my team. It’s time to put my heart out to the Lord and pray that God would see my affliction, remember me and not forget me and raise up this company to be what He wants it to be. And we will give the first fruits to advance God’s Kingdom. That is why we’re Kingdom Entrepreneurs, to be a vehicle for God’s glory and bring others to His name.
What are your afflictions? What are your deep desires that you have struggled and ached to see come to fruition? Take your bitterness and your longings to God and have an honest conversation with Him. He will hear and He will act. Maybe not in the way you expect, but He will act with your best interest at heart!
Application of Bible Devotional
Pray Hannah’s prayer regarding your deepest desires.
Dear Lord, thank you that you hear the heart. We don’t need to pretend with you or pretend with others. When we’re bitter and heartbroken, we pray to you and weep bitterly. We acknowledge our distress and thank you that you hear us. Amen.
Call to Action
One of the reasons I’m starting this Bible Devotional is to ask for others to intentionally pray for our business, AngelArts.
Pray for strength and focus as we continue to work on various projects in preparation for the conference in May and our LARP camp in late July.
Would you like prayer? Please respond with a prayer request and our team will pray for you in our next staff meeting! We did this last night and it was such a blessing to us! And join the group so we can be reminded to pray for you on a regular basis!
And new! If you join the Prayer Team, we have created a private Discord channel where we can pray together! Discord is a great tool for connecting and much more secure than FB Messenger.
