Day Nineteen
Deuteronomy 10:15
Bible Devotional Thoughts
The Lord delights in you. Sometimes, quite frankly, that’s hard for me to believe. Maybe it is for you, too.
He delights in you to love me. Personally, there are days like yesterday when all seems against me and I don’t feel it. Again, you might have times where you feel the same.
He chose you. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I think, “why little (or as in my case, not so little) ‘ole me?!” Who am I” Actually, pretty much a nobody!
But He chooses “nobodies” to confound the “somebodies” or what Corinthians called the wise or those wise in their own eyes.
So knowing that He delights in you, loves you, and chose you, now what?
Let go of the desire and the action of trying to overcome your obstacles on your own, which requires a heart surrender, a cutting off of the old way your “old man” would handle things.
And that for me personally is changing “stinkin thinkin”–thoughts like I’m not good enough and nothing will ever change–to seeing God as my praise. To fear Him, to hold fast to Him and to stick by Him despite my feelings and at present bleak circumstances.
Because He is my God. He is your God.
He has done great and awesome things for me and I’m sure for you, too. He will multiply me. And you, too.
I long to see what He does with just the five of us, my family. I long for Him to do big, incredible things through my life and business!
I hope He does incredible things for you through this Bible Devotional!
It’s the Lord God who will will make me who He wants me to be. He will make YOU who He wants you to be.
We just have to hold on to Him.
Application of Bible Devotional
Think of five things He did in your past that were incredible and thank Him for them.
Prayer
Lord, you set your affection on us to love us. You choose the people involved in our efforts, in our lives. Help us to trust you, fear you, serve you, and hold on to you. Amen.
